2010 Views
This January 12, 2010 view of sunset behind the Lot 10 mound with its shrubs, red cedars, junipers and redbud starting to grow was inspiring.
Spring has overtaken winter and the forsythia are shouting its victory in this April 6, 2010 photo. The maple blossoms have fallen, ready to make way for the maple whirligig seeds to form and perform their ballet as they flutter to the ground to make more maple seedlings.
A different perspective of the mound, also taken April 6, 2010 shows the many rocks interspersed among the junipers and shrubs.
2011 Views
March 20, 2011 and yes, another frosting of snow covers the mound; but it is still a joy to view, full of anticipation of what Spring will bring forth.
May 14, 2011 shows a mosaic of creeping phlox with the various hues of green in the junipers and red cedar, backdropped by the more subtle greens of the maples and tulip trees just leafing out.
2012 Views
April 20, 2012 and the bright red of the Lot 11 fire hydrant provides a vivid contrast to the deep greens of the growing junipers and red cedars and also of the deep red brick of the Lot 10 home.
Another April 30, 2012 view showing off the growing creeping phlox, junipers and red cedars. Spring is here, the maples are blooming.
June 14, 2012, the lilies are blooming, the Rose of Sharon is leafed out, the sand cherry's purple leaves are showing forth and the red cedars are reaching four foot tall.
August 6, 2012 shows the redbud over seven foot tall, junipers over two foot and the Rose of Sharon beginning to bloom and the Creeping Jenny filling in behind the Lot 11 fire hydrant.
Also on August 6, 2012, the forsythia has grown to over four foot tall and the hydrangeas are filling in nicely below the forsythia.
2013 Views
On May 1, 2013, the rich butter yellow of the forsythia are in stark contrast to the dusky magenta of the redbud and pinks of the magnolia in the yard behind the mound.
This May 1, 2013 in an expanded view, the sand cherries, the junipers and red cedar and Creeping Jenny create a beautiful tapestry.
May 24, 2013, and the creeping phlox is almost through blooming, the peony is budding and the pinks and iris are blooming. The red cedar has grown to five feet, the dogwoods and Rose of Sharon is leafed out.
2014 Views
May 10, 2014 brings forth the Ajuga's (also called Bugleweed) medium blue spires bloom near the Lot 11 fire hydrant.
May 10, 2014, and the sand cherries are blooming, also the Ajugas with their blue spires are spreading.
2015 Views
An early morning May 7, 2015 view shows the daffodils, the creeping phlox are in full bloom, the sky blue of the Forget-me-not's.
This May 7, 2015 close up of the mounds brings the contrasts of the deep pink of the flowering crab, the light pink with deep wine-colored leaves of the sand cherry. Further contrasts are with the deep greens of the over seven foot tall red cedars, the other spruces and the junipers.
May 7, 2015 and a view from the west displays the first bloom of the dogwood, the medium blue of the spires of the growing clusters of Ajuga, the varied hues of the juniper, spruces and red cedar greens.
