West River Road Entrance Mound 2010 to 2015

2010 Views

A January 7, 2010 view of the West River Road entrance mound from the southeast shows off the pink granite rock and the Norway spruce.  The smaller transplants are hidden under the frosting of snow but the mound still serves to block headlights on West River Road.

This is a May 13, 2010 picture of the entrance mound, viewed from the west, the Lot 13 driveway showing the various sedums planted, along with various junipers.

Driving east, the mound displays a variety of colors and textures.

This October 8, 2010 approach is from the north.  Note the Lot 11 hydrant vault with shrubs planted on its mound.  In a few years the junipers will hide the cement of the vault.

This April 11, 2011 view is to the north of the junipers near the Lot 11 hydrant vault.  I took this picture standing on top of the mound.  The red cedar and the junipers and other shrubs and perennials are growing well.

I expanded the area on the north side of the entrance mound and spread fresh bark on top of the landscape fabric.  I also dressed a swale near the curve in the drive.

I had other projects in 2012 and did not take pictures of the entrance mound.  This April 26, 2013 panorama shows the common drive entrance mound taken from the southeast.

2015 Views

2014 I did not take pictures of the entrance mound.  But April 29, 2015 I did take pictures of the entrance mound.  This is of the east section, which includes the Lot 11 hydrant vault mound.  The junipers and other shrubs and perennials have hidden the vault totally.  I was able to transplant many of the sedums to the edges of the common drive across the dam to the upper lake.
